Both of Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Villages and Enclaves are located on the same property. They are both located at 9003 Shadow Ridge Road in Palm Desert, California. It will take you only 1 minutes to go from the Enclaves to the Villages.

The Villages can usually accommodate more people than the Enclaves. But as of  January 27, 2023, multiple projects are underway at Marriott’s Shadow Ridge. The projects include preventative villa and public space maintenance. So, various buildings are closed till March 2023.

But there are several villages and enclaves available for prior booking. If you are intending to stay at the Villages, you should make the booking at least 15 days ahead. This will give you more options and chances of getting the best rooms overlooking the golf course.

Cost and Refund Policy

The Enclaves are slightly cheaper than the Villages. The starting price for 1 bedroom for 2 adults in the Enclaves will be $244 for members of the Marriott Vacation Club. The  General rate for the same room will be $249.

The Villages, however, will cost you a little more for a similar room. The members will have to pay $275 whereas the general rate is $289.

The price will increase with room variation and facilities. But both of these vacation resorts have several special rates and discounts available. Government & Military, Senior discounts, Corporate Promo, AAA/CAA, Marriott Bonvoy Points, and group discounts are available. 

You will have to show your membership card or other identification cards for availing of these discounts. And for reserving any, they also require your credit card number.

For a full refund, you need to cancel one day prior to your reservation at both of these accommodations. But after this deadline, you will be charged the total price of the room with additional fees. 

Just like the Aruba Marriott Ocean Club and Surf Club, in case of pre-payment, they will be retaining the total amount. If not, you will be charged from your credit card.

Airport Transportation and Parking

Airport transportation is not offered by Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Enclaves and Villages. However, there are other ways to get to the resort from the airport, including taxis, ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft, and rental cars.

Lobby and Guest Reception

Guest reception is at the entry of the resort and both the Villages and The Enclaves share the same reception area. Reception is much closer in the Villages than in the Enclaves.

Right through the guest reception, you will find the Marketplace and the Clubhouse. The restaurant and the fitness center are also nearby the guest reception.

The Villages is closer to the reception but the Enclaves are just a block away from the Villages. There’s a regular shuttle running through the resort, but it can be a long walk from the Enclaves when you need an emergency run to the Marketplace.

The check-in and check-out time is the Marriott’s standard time. You will be able to check in at 4 P.M. and check out by 10 A.M.

For both Members and non-members, Web Check-in is available. A notification will be sent to you when your room is ready for you. After that, you can just collect the keys from the Reception desk and swipe your credit card.

For Marriott Bonvoy Members, there are two other perks. You can pre-check in from the hotel app and get things ready before you arrive. Moreover, this app can work as your room key as well. So, if needed, you can go straight to your own room.

After you have checked in, you can use the entry closer to the Enclaves without going through the main reception area.

Accessibility Features

Marriott has always kept their customers comfortability in their mind. With that thought, both the Villages and the Enclaves both have accessible hotel features available.

The property has elevators throughout the area along with accessible routes and sloped entry in required places. The main entrance, on-site pool entrance, restaurants, meeting spaces, fitness center entrance, and guestroom entrance are made with accessible features.

Each room in the villages and enclaves is made with accessible features as well. Guestrooms and suites are made with self-closing and with an electronic key option. Rooms come with lowered electrical outlets, lowered deadbolts on doors and handles, and lowered viewports from guest room doors.

Along with hearing-accessible rooms and kits, the bathrooms are catered to with accessible features as well. There are non-slip grab rails, seats, a roll-in shower, a toilet seat at wheelchair height, and TTY/TTD compatibility.

Concierge Services

Both the Villages and the Enclaves have concierge services along with their accommodations. Any questions or help you need the concierge service will be available for you throughout the day and night. 

All the staffs are fluent in English and Spanish speakers. They will help you with any reservation and booking. Call in advance for any booking to get the best possible service.

Pet Friendliness 

Marriott Shadow Ridge resort welcomes service animals that help with work or tasks. However, family pets are not allowed. 

A room recovery cost of $500 per pet will be applied if they find out you brought a pet with you to the resort. In addition, you will be required to drop your pet at  a neighborhood, independent boarding facility.

Moreover, misrepresenting a pet as a service animal may be illegal in some areas and carry a risk of jail time.

California Penal Code 365.7 makes it illegal to falsely represent a dog as a guide, signal, or service dog. The legislation does not recognize comfort animals or emotional support animals as aid or service animals.

Laundry and Drycleaning Service

All rooms of the Villages and Enclaves come with an in-built washer and dryer combo, but the Guestrooms in doesn’t have this facility. There’s laundry available on-site as well. You can call the concierge desk and ask for help with the laundry service.

Toiletries and Jacuzzi Bathroom

All bathrooms in both Enclaves and Villages have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers available with them. The bathrooms of the Villages come with separate showers and tubs except for the guestroom which is a combination. The Enclaves don’t have any bathtub option in any of their rooms. 

Cuisine and Dining Service

Along with on-site food and beverages you can order dinner to your room from both of these accommodations as well. Bars and restaurants along the pool area are close to the Villages. 

You can do this through the app but this requires membership in Marriott’s Bonvoy. You can even live chat with their associates for clarification as well.

For on-site outdoor dining, you can check out the following restaurants. But these might be closed due to current construction but after March 2023 it is expected to be open all time.

You will find all your necessary sundries, snacks, and beverage items in the marketplace. You can even get specialty espresso drinks and more from establishments like Starbucks. It’s closer to the Villages but can be a long walk from the Enclaves.

Basketball Court, Tennis Court, and Golf Course

The Marriott’s Shadow Ridge feature a championship golf course with lush greens and a stunning view of the Palm Desert. This 18-hole golf 7006 yards golf course was designed with the help of 3-time masters champion Nick Faldo.

Tee time is 6 am to 6 pm, with on-site training available. Additional charges may apply to this extra training. There’s also a miniature putting green as well.

Along with this challenging golf course, there are  basketball courts, billiards tables, shuffleboard courts, sand volleyball courts, and pickleball courts in the resort’s clubhouse.

Moreover, there are table tennis and tennis courts available with walking paths. But remember that charges for these activities do change from time to time.

On-site Fitness Center 

With cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, you can stay on track with your fitness goals while staying at the resort. However, your Villa key is necessary for access. Two on-site fitness centers are available and both are accessible to everyone staying at the resorts.

The Villages are closer to the Clubhouse Fitness Center. This center is complimentary and open around-the-clock. A locker room and steam room is available along with cardiovascular equipment.

Additionally, it has treadmills, weight machines, exercise bikes, free weights, stair climbers, and strength equipment.

The second fitness center Enclaves Fitness Center is closer to the Enclaves accommodation. This is smaller in size and has less equipment. Opened from 6 A.M. to 9 P.M. This fitness center has cardiovascular equipment, treadmills, and Elliptical Machines.

Swimming Pool (On-site & Private)

Pools are the best part of Marriott’s Shadow Ridge resorts. There are a total of four outdoor swimming pools and one Whirlpool spa available. 

There’s a TV viewing area from the pool as well. You can enjoy any sports match from there as well while sipping fresh drinks from the nearby bars.

Chuckwalla Pool Complex has one large family pool with a water slide closer to the Villages. There’s a height requirement of 48”.There’s also a baby pool with a water play area for the kids with fountains and squirters. There is also a small lounge pool, jacuzzis, and cabanas.

Snake Bites pools are closer to the Enclaves buildings and are smaller in size. There’s a water play area surrounding the pool area as well. There’s a large fire pit close to the pool which comes in handy during wintertime.

Both pool areas have grill services available nearby and can be accessed by anyone staying at the villas.

Spa

There’s Whirlpool Spa near the pool complex but if you want a more refined Spa experience you can try the JW Marriott  Desert Springs Resort & Spa. It is 3.5 miles away from the resort.
